Adam Webster “Webb” Haynes, 95 of Circleville, died Monday November 2, 2009 at Pickaway Manor. He was born on January 18, 1914 in Lancaster, OH. Webb served in World War II as a member of the United States Navy. He was aboard the USS Denver during the Battle of Leyte Gulf around the Philippines. He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Webb worked at Anchor Hocking Glass Factory in Lancaster, OH for 42 ½ years. Webb is preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Cora Haynes; five brothers, Virgil, Silas, Lewis, Paul and Raymond; three sisters, Sadie Handel, Fairy Bond, Ruth Booth and son, Richard Carter. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris of Circleville; daughter, Linda (Carl) Morefield of Pickerington; son, Frank (Aileen) Carter of Circleville; two grandchildren, Suzanne (Jon) Patton of Kure Beach, NC and Douglas (Melissa) Van Scoy of Powell, OH; two step grandchildren, Joni (David) Chamberlin and Tina (Carey) Carter-Sherrill of New Albany, OH; five great-grandchildren, Connor, Abigail and Clayton Seymour and Curtis and Jared Van Scoy; step-great grandchildren, PJ Dickey, Alli, and Aaron Collins of Circleville and Lillie Sherrill of New Albany, OH. He will be fondly remembered for his love of fishing and his sense of humor. The family would like to thank the staff at Pickaway Manor for their loving care to Adam and the support to the family. A celebration of life’s journey will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville, OH. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 740 Lakeview Plaza Blvd. Suite 225, Worthington, OH 43085 and/or The American Cancer Society at 1-800-433-7300.
