Alice Klee Clifton, 84, of Circleville, formerly of Rogers City, MI, passed away on August 13, 2009. She was born to the late Victor and Teresa (Paull) Klee on August 1, 1925 in Rogers City, MI. Alice left Rogers City when she was 18 and came to Ohio on a Christmas tree truck. After settling in Circleville, she worked in Columbus at the Fashion, The Union and Lazarus. She met the late Harry “Buck” Clifton and they were married on June 12, 1949. Together they had three children, Vicki Novak, Krista Montanye and Scott Clifton. Alice attended Trinity Lutheran Church and was an active member there. She was an avid bridge player and had a passion for theatre, especially going to the Round Town Players shows. Alice enjoyed Big Band music and dancing. Alice loved hats and fashion and prided herself on having the right hat for every occasion. She looked forward to going to the family cottage in Michigan to celebrate every Fourth of July and was the reigning family Checker Champion. Alice always loved visiting her friends in the nursing home and was sure to brighten their day by spending time and talking with them. Alice loved life and her wonderful family. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed a good laugh. Alice was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She has many friends and family that loved her and will miss her dearly. Surviving relatives include, her two daughters, Vicki (John) Novak of Circleville and Krista (Steve) Montanye of Kalamazoo, MI; son, Scott (Karen) Clifton of Circleville; grandchildren, John Bilchak, III, Megan Bilchak, Rebecca Brockmeyer, Scott and Molly Novak, Steve, Jason and Kira Montanye, Nicholas and Brady Clifton; great grandchildren, Aidan Isaac, Lincoln Brockmeyer and Carter Novak; sisters, Rosalie Taylor, Norma Hadley, Carole Shay and Nancy Urlaub and one brother, Gerald Klee. Also preceding he in death are two sisters, Marjorie Schuler and Ardis Bruning. According to Alice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest by her husband at Forest Cemetery. Friends and families will be received at a Celebration of Life service held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday August 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alice’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Berger Hospital Hospice and Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park, P.O. Box 3, Circleville, OH 43113. Arrangements were completed by the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
