Alma M. “Patty” Hosler Kirkwood, 95, of Circleville, died November 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born October 22, 1919 in Circleville, the daughter of Harry R. and Creola E. (Smallwood) Hosler, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Montford C. Kirkwood, Jr.; sisters, Ozilla Carothers and Ruth McClarren; brothers, Harry Hosler, Jr., Willard, Hosler and Kenneth Hosler. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Montford C. Kirkwood, Jr. for 63 years. She is survived by her daughters,, Carol (Chuck) Hocevar of Hilton Head Island, SC and Cheryl (John) Stout of Circleville; granddaughters, Lisa (Bart) Werthington of Savannah, GA, Lindsey (Samuel) Couch of Pelzer, SC, Emily (Joshua) Brown of Reynoldsburg and Elizabeth (Tyler Puckett) Stout of Reynoldsburg; great grandchildren, Jay, KC, Sarah and Ashleigh Wetherington of Savannah, GA and Merri, Kirk and Chip Couch of Pelzer, SC; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church for 60 plus years where she formerly taught Sunday school and held many church offices including trustee, president of United Methodist Women, secretary of Harper Bible S.S. Class. She graduated from Circleville High School and Bliss Business College. She was a former employee of the Internal Revenue Service in Columbus for 10 years, served as executive secretary for the former Pickaway County Easter Seal Society for 16 years, worked for American Red Cross Bloodmobile and Circleville High School Band Boosters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed baking cinnamon rolls, cookies and buckeyes for her family and friends. Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday November 25, 2014 at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Gruver officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd UMC. Arrangements were completed by the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
