Alma may have left her hometown at age 17, but she always kept Williamsport close to her heart. She made lifelong friends during the 18 years she worked at Lazarus. From there she went to the Medical Bureau, working for 18 years, until it was necessary to remain home to care for her husband, Tom, who had Alzheimer's. Alma volunteered at her church, Livingston United Methodist Church, until moving to Hilliard, where she spent the last 19 years. She liked sewing, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and mealtimes at nearby Bob Evans restaurants. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to her best friend’s daughter, Lana Keller Barbarick and to her nieces; Leslie Scott and Patti Harris, who sought out opportunities regularly to show loving-kindness to Alma. A thank you is also extended to The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, who offered kindness above and beyond all expectations during her stays at their facility. We also appreciated the assistance of Kindred Hospice, who offered tender care during the past three months. Private graveside services will be held at Springlawn Cemetery in Williamsport, officiated by Rev. Leo Frailey. Arrangements were completed by WELLMAN FUNERAL HOME, Circleville, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Alma's memory to the charity of your choice.
