Amos Vanfossen

Amos J. VanFossen, 96, of Stoutsville, died October 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 29, 1913 in Laurelville the son of Joseph E. and Lora E. (Ankrom) VanFossen. Amos was an avid carpenter, WWII Army veteran and member of American Legion #134. Amos was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mattie (Ebert) VanFossen, 1 grandchild, brothers Luther, Bernard and Ralph and sister Ida Kuhn. He is survived by his children Catherine Vickers of Tarlton, Rebecca Tatman of Kingston, David L. VanFossen of Circleville and Tonja Goode of Tarlton; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, several close nephews and nieces and a daughter Juanita Rossiter of Circleville. Funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday October 20, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 10-12 Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
