Amy Zelda (Poling) Karr, 81, was called home to be with our Lord on Friday, July 19, 2013 at her residence. She was born December 24, 1931 in Hocking County, the daughter of Theodore “Sock” and Mildred (Peck) Poling. Amy was lifelong resident of the area, retired Stahr Route mail carrier and Laurelville Post Office Clerk. She was a member of the South Perry United Methodist Church, the south Perry U.M. Womens Society and the Laurel Valley Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil Karr; sons, Gregory and Eric Karr; grandson, Christopher Burns; sister, Mona Hettinger; brothers, Lloyd, Bernard, Clyde, Garry and Gerry Poling. She is survived by her children, Mildred Kay (Tom) Burns, Charles (Candy) Karr, Keith (Mona) Karr, Steven (Denise) Karr, Darlene (Tim) Adams and Michele (Larry) Smith; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Dona Swackhammer, Violet Thompson, Wanda Johnson and Janet Amerine; brothers and sister-in-laws, Norman “Beecher” and Norma, Delbert and Arlene, and Jerald “Pete” and Bobbi Poling; numerous nieces and nephews. Amy was blessed to be part of a very large and loving family. Until her illness prevented it, she was a very active member of her church. She will be sorely missed by her family, friends and church family. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 25, 2013 at the South Perry U.M.C. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville.
