Barbara Elaine Palmer, age 81, of Washington C.H. went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long illness early Wednesday morning June 7, 2017 at St. Catherines Manor where she had been residing for the past 2 years. Barbara was born February 20, 1936 in Washington C.H. to John Ervin and Florence Robinette Schiller. She was a member of the class of 1954 from Washington High School. She was previously employed at Mid-Ohio Chemical as a secretary and was a lifelong member of the Southside Church of Christ. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents John and Florence Robinette Schiller and by a brother Willard Schiller. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Ronald Palmer Sr., her daughter Sherry (Greg) Kimmet, her son Ronald Palmer Jr. and his wife Rebecca (who was her special caretaker); granddaughters Rachel Palmer and Krista Kimmet, and by a great grandson Ryatt Kimmet. Also surviving are her sisters Mildred Holbrook, Virginia Elliott, Marilyn Knisley all of Washington C.H. and Marjorie Morrison of Circleville along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Southside Church of Christ with Pastors Danny Dodds and Todd Maurer officiating with burial to follow in Highlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Southside Church of Christ, 921 South Fayette Street, Washington C.H. or to Hospice of Fayette County, 222 Oakland Avenue, Washington C.H. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at St. Catherines Manor for the loving care provided to Barbara in her final years. They were a blessing to her family.
