Barbara Russell

Barbara Jane (Laessle) Russell, 78, of Circleville, died May 24, 2010 at OSU Medical Center. She was born April 11, 1932 in Ross County, the daughter of George Henry Laessle and Stella (Smith) Fisher. She worked at General Electric for 26 years and retired from RCI with 13 years as a correction officer; member of VFW Ladies Aux. 108 of Chillicothe and attended World Harvest Church, Open Door and Circleville First Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Shirley Hope Swackhammer and Andy Lloyd Russell; granddaughter, Andrea Valentine; great grandson, Ryan Meadows; sister, Joan Shepard and brothers, George Smith and Robert L. Laessle. She is survived by her children, Pamela Jean (Andy) Ward, Roxanne (Rick) Brayshaw, Randy Lee (Donna) Russell and Mandy Jane Lewis; step children, Ralph Tufts, Jr. and Jo Ann Sawyer; grandchildren, Kelli Jo (Troy) Wilburn, Raymond Dennis (Paula) Bass, II, Casey Douglas (Heather) Brayshaw, Traci Leigh (Steve) Meadows, Curtis Michael Tyrone Lewis, Brandy Leanne (Jason) Coyan and Travis Dowden (Ashley Henderson) Russell; great grandchildren, Dalton and Courtney Wilburn, Karlee, Draven and Maxwell Bass, Kyla and Katie Brayshaw, Daryn, Zach and Drew Meadows, Curtis, Jr., Je-sean and Jaszme Lewis and Makayla, Presly and Caz Coyan; son-in-law, John Swackhammer and sister, Norma Jean Young. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday May 28, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
