Beatrice Keller Stevenson Boltenhouse, 85, of Kingston, made it safely home on September 19, 2009, after an extended illness. She lived in Circleville for over 50 years. Beatrice was born to Oliver and Sylvia Keller on December 7, 1923, in Millersport, Ohio. She held many fond memories about her early years growing up on the family farm and enjoyed sharing those experiences.
Beatrice was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Keith (Jayne) Stevenson, of Kingston; grandchildren Andrea Hurles, Courtney Rothgeb, and Shawn Stevenson, all of Circleville, Craig Stevenson of Circleville, Luke Stevenson of Ashville, and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Luella (Ronald) Shew, of Erlanger, KY, and Eileen (Dale) Meeks, of Baltimore, OH; two brothers, Owen (Carol) Keller, of Baltimore, and Lester (Maryland) Keller, of Millersport. A very special friend, Marvella Tatman, also survives Beatrice, along with many nieces, nephews, and other close friends.
Beatrice was pre-deceased by her first husband, David Stevenson, a son, Douglas Stevenson, her second husband, William Boltenhouse, and brothers, Loren Keller and Donald Keller.
After graduation from Millersport High School in 1941, Beatrice went to live on her own in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 17 to continue her education at Bliss Business College. After completing a business course, Beatrice found employment as an office worker for several years at various businesses in Columbus including Woolworth’s, Capital City Products, and Farm Bureau.
Beatrice was a faithful Christian and loved the Church. She was a charter member of Peoples Faith Chapel where she served as missionary treasurer for 28 years. In later years, she attended Ashville CCCU and Crossroads CCCU. Often walking to services, Beatrice grew up attending Fletcher Chapel Methodist Church. Beatrice was also faithful to attend Bible Study at the Pickaway County Senior Center for many years.
Funeral service will be held 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 23, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Lonnie Potts and Pastor Don Blankenship officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 – 4 PM and from 6 – 8 PM. Burial will be in Jackson Twp. Cemetery.
