Our loving mother and wife, Beatrice Viola Hook Dollison Pierce went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. She was born in Millfield in Athens County on March 12, 1924 to Barney and Mae (Rutter) Hook.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Dollison, daughter, Barbara Shonkwiler and grandchild, Lisa Dollison, sisters, Elizabeth, Violet, Deannie, Dessie, Juanita and by brothers, Carl and Leroy Hook.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of twenty-five years, Melvin Pierce, sons, Ken (Sharon) Dollison, Donald Dollison, Jerry Dollison, Randy (Jacque) Dollison, six step children, Debbie Chrisman, Pete (Brenda) Pierce, Ruben “Mike”(Doris) Pierce, Tim (Teresa) Pierce, Janet (David) Mason, Melvin (Robin) Pierce Jr., sisters, Darlene, Wilma and Mary, brothers, Alfred, Fred, Charlie, Bill and Buck, 31 grand, 40 great grand and 13 great, great grandchildren.
Beatrice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Circleville Church of Christ where she sang in the choir. For many years, she belonged to the Pickaway County “Friendly Visitors” cheer group that visited nursing homes and hospitals. Bea loved creating ceramics, going to watch wrestling matches and collecting pictures of her many loved ones. She always had a smile and time for her family and many friends. She will be sadly missed but we will be looking forward to being with her in heaven.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home with burial to follow in Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from Noon until the time of service at 2:00.
