Benjamin Franklin Bache, III, 81, of Lancaster, died November 3, 2011 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pa, the son of the Benjamin Franklin and Ida (Townroe) Bache, II. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War from 1951-1955 where he served as a pilot and decoder. He was in intelligence school in Denver and pilot training in Georgia. He retired as a superintendent at Thompson Consumer Electronics with 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Emily (Schruben) Bache; grandparents, John R. and Ida Townroe and Benjamin Franklin and Alice Kelly Bache. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Spangler) Bache; son, Jeffrey C. (Ruth) Bache; stepchildren, Chip Spangler of Lancaster, Beth Spangler (Tim) Bartholomew of Houston, TX and Chad (Annjeanette) Spangler; grandchildren, Travis & Jake Bartholomew and Cameron Frizzel; brother, John (Jean) Bache; niece, Robin (Bruce) Gray. Memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Tuesday November 8, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association.
