Benny Metzger

Benny W. Metzger, 89, of Williamsport, died Jan. 3, 2011 at Pickaway Manor. He was born March 3, 1921 in Circleville, the son of Walter and Florence (Wilson) Metzger. Benny was a WWII Army veteran serving with the 1st Cavalry in the Pacific Theater with honors, a lifelong farmer and cattleman and a buyer for the Ohio Packing Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Benny Lynn Metzger and sister, Rosemary Corriveau. Benny is survived by his wife, Donagene (Weiler) Metzger, sons; Leo (Paula) and Myron (Jerri) Metzger of Circleville, grandchildren; Ben Ryan, Sean (Angela), Colin and David Metzger and Breanna (Kenneth) Schwart, great-grandchildren; Evan and Kirsten Metzger and Cody, Kaleb and Karlyn Schwart, sisters, Patricia Courtright of Centerville and Jayne Nance of Johnstown and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan.7, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 2 – 8 pm.
