Betty Betts

Betty Jane Betts, 91, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2012. She was born on April 25, 1921 to Ernest F. and Dessie L. (Rehm) May. She was a graduate of Circleville High School in 1939. She married David C. Betts on November 4, 1947, who preceded her in death after 61 years of marriage.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had past employment with The Third National Bank and Circleville High School. She was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church and past member of the Roundtown Garden Club.
Betty enjoyed tole painting as a hobby and also collected plates. Betty and Dave traveled throughout most of the United States, toured Europe, Japan and Hong Kong. She has an extensive collection of plates representing every state and country visited.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lucille Thomas and a son-in-law, Douglas G. Sparks. She is survived by 3 children, Patsy Amlin (George) of Pocopson, Pa; Nancy Sparks of Woodville, OH; and David Betts, Jr. (Nedra) of Circleville, OH; ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
A visiting hour will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12th at the Wellman Funeral Home in Circleville followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 310 E. Main St., Circleville, Ohio 43113 or a charity of your choice.
