Bob Smith

Bob Smith 96, passed October 29, 2010 at Berger Hospital. Bob was born on December 15, 1913, the son of Liberty “L.J.” and Mary E. (Congrove) Smith. Bob graduated from Adelphi Harrison in 1933, was a member of Carpenter Local #200 for 69 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his sons, Robert (Shirley), Glen (Karen) and daughter-in-law, Sandy of Adelphi, Chuck (Judy) of Laurelville and Jim (Helen) of Rockbridge; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephew, Oleda Wanda Smith of Florida, Jean Ellen Smith of Lancaster and Bud (Addie) Smith of Arizonia and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 1st. wife, Helen Smith (mother of children) and 2nd wife Fern McNeal Smith; son, Donald L. Smith; brothers, Harold, Oscar, Francis, Nelson and James and sisters, Helen, Mildred, Louise and Ruth. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday November 1, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
