C. George Huskey

He and his sister were raised primarily by their maternal aunts, Dorothy “Dot” and Marion Huntly in Jacksonville, FL and spent the summers with their aunts and uncles in New Smyrna, FL.

Graduated from Julia Landon High School, Jacksonville, FL 1944

Worked for the U. S. Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL from 1943 to 1946 all aspects of installation, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and removal of of radial aircraft engines.

Graduated from University of Florida, 1950

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Specialization in Mechanical design, thermodynamics, air conditioning, and mathematics.

Met his first wife, Olive Wells Warner “Daisy” on a blind date as students at the University of Florida, Gainesville. They married on June 10, 1950 and had five children together. Daisy passed on in 1969.

Employed by E.I. DuPont de Nemours from 1953 until his retirement in 1985.

His job at DuPont took him from Pensacola, FL to Wilmington, DE to Circleville, OH to Florence, SC on to the country of Luxembourg, Europe and then back to Circleville. George was a research fellow at DuPont and was granted countless patents during his employment. He became a Research Fellow in the Industrial Films Research area for DuPont in 1983 and worked as a consultant for more than a decade.

George married his neighbor Eileen A. Morgan Foster on June 12, 1971 and they created a big family of 12.

A born explorer, George loved traveling all over Europe with his family when he was with DuPont in Luxembourg. His second wife, Eileen shared his love of travel and they spent many happy times together with that big family camping, exploring, boating, and visiting friends and family. Later on, George and Eileen enjoyed cruising and flying all over the world together.
