Carl M. Lindsey, born April 17, 1936 to Raymond and Mary Gates Lindsey of Circleville. Survived by loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Freda Holbrook Lindsey, and caring daughter Kimberly Lindsey Ball (Kevin Ball), father Raymond T. Lindsey, sister Sandy Shasteen (Rod Shasteen), as well as grandchildren Chad (Jenny Conrad) Lindsey, Matt (Kendra Hudson) Lindsey, Nicole Lindsey of Circleville, and Alex Ball and Spencer Ball of Hilliard, Ohio. One great-grandson Kevin Michael Lindsey of Circleville. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Mary Gates Lindsey in 2008, and son Kevin T. Lindsey in 2001. Carl was a farmer all his life. He was also a private pilot for 50 years. Carl had many hobbies and interests, including restoring and painting airplanes, repairing and painting cars and trucks, building and flying model airplanes, riding motorcycles, boating, fishing, and target shooting. He restored and painted the first Taylorcraft off the assembly line, belonging to Mr. Rober Taylor himself, in the late 1990’s. He was a trustee of Muhlenberg Township for 20 years, member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), National Rifle Association (NRA), Bass Fishing, Taylorcraft Club, and Cub Club. He attended Scioto Chapel United Methodist Church. Carl was the most loving husband and father! There was nothing too big or too small for a discussion. He loved his family and his close friends, including Don Davis and Mike Fausnaugh. His happiness included hanging at the airport with Danny Kurtz and his other pilot friends. People who met Carl remembered Carl. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Wellman Funeral Home officiated by nephew Michael Holbrook, Pastor Debbie Nance and retired pastor Delmer Dodrill with burial to follow in Jackson Township Cemetery.
