Carlos Edward Alvarez died peacefully at Forest Hills Center on Tuesday, July 11. He

was 52.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Caitlyn and Jonathan Stiffler of

Columbus; his mother Jacqueline of Circleville; and siblings Gloria (Dean Gulick) of

Houston; Jacqueline (Sharon Stevenson) of Pelham, Massachusetts; and Matthew

(Eleanor Rhee) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and 7 nieces and nephews.

Before a brain injury eight years ago, he worked as a field service engineer for Siemens

and Cummings, traveling the world installing and repairing heavy mechanical equipment.

He enjoyed snow skiing; boating, white water rafting, and water skiing; playing the bass

guitar and listening to live music; and keeping birds. He was an excellent cook: his

rigatoni was legendary.  In keeping with his wishes, his body will be cremated and ashes dispersed over Solitude Mountain in Utah and along the Crystal Coast of North Carolina.

Calling hours will be Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 2-4 at Wellman Funeral

Home in Circleville, followed by a brief memorial service at 4. In lieu of flowers,

donations may be made to  NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), Active Minds

or your favorite mental health agency.  Wellman Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
