Carolyn S. Smith, 72, of Orient passed away on January 5, 2016. She was born on August 22, 1943 in Chillicothe to Ernest and Frances (Bowles) Cockrell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings; Ernestine Lowry, Leroy and Harold Cockrell and Chris Smith. Carolyn is survived by her husband; Fred Smith, children; Rose Walters, Dan (Anita) Smith, Melinda (Steve) Short, Steve (Toni) Smith and Jennifer (Joe) Farley, 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating with burial to follow in Beckett Cemetery.
