Cathy Lynn Mayberry, 56, of Columbus, died February 5, 2010 as a result of an auto accident. She was born August 16, 1953 in Circleville, the daughter of Paul and Nancy (Carter) Mayberry. She was retired from Dupont and was an assistant veterinary technician at Johnstown Animal Hospital for a number of years. She loved all animals, especially cats and shared her life and home with any that showed up at her door. In September, 1990, she was co-recipient of the Capital Area Humane Society’s Volunteer of the Year Award. She was preceded in death by her brothers, David Richard Mayberry and David Skaggs; aunt, Dorothy (Mayberry) Cenky; uncle, John (Bill) Carter; maternal grandparents, Evelyn Imler Carter and John Carter, Sr. and paternal grandparents, Charles and Mildred (Koch) Mayberry. She is survived by her parents; partner, Carmeda Harrington; sisters, Linda (Steve) Mayberry-Wunsch of Stoutsville and Susan Bernadzikowski of Lincoln University, PA; niece, Maria Bernadzikowski of Lincoln University, PA; nephew, Anthony Bernadzikowski of Lincoln University, PA; special friends, Tracy and Tabitha Skaggs of Circleville and Kristy of Johnstown; aunts, Betty (Ralph) Canny of San Antonio, TX, Kitten (Vic) Riffle of Circleville, Jean Carter of Circleville and Jean (John) Smith of Lancaster; uncle, Jerry (Sally) Mayberry of Howard, OH and numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Saturday.
