Charles T. Bahnsen, Jr. 72, of Galloway, died February 4, 2008 at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born June 3, 1935 in Sandusky, the son of the late Charles T. and Genievene (Croftcheck) Bahnsen, Sr. After earning his GED Charles studied criminology for 1 year at Park College. While in the military he held many jobs including PO3 Boiler Tender for 8 years in USN, Truck Driver and Ranger as a Sergeant in USNG for two years, PO3 Engineman in USCG for 4 years and Power Production Tech and Security Police as a Staff Sergeant in USAF for 10 years. He was a retired Staff Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. He served 25 years in 4 branches, Navy, National Guard, Coast Guard and the Air Force, during Korean War for a year, and Vietnam War for 3 years. Charles was awarded 19 ribbons and citations including Bronze Star, Air Force Commendation and Purple Heart. Charles was a member of American Legion Post 532 and D.A.V. Post 42. He is survived by his wife, Nola (Rader) Bahnsen; sons, David Phillip Griffy of Bellvue and Michael Shane Griffy of Houston, TX; sister, Barbara Ellis of Bethpage, TN; niece Brooke Ann Rader and nephew Justin Shane Rader. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday February 8, 2008 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
