Charles Matheny

Charles Leslie “Les” Matheny, 68, of Circleville, died February 3, 2013 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born February 27, 1944 in Columbus, the son of Walter and Jane (Estep) Matheny. He was retired from UPS, served in the Army National Guard, member of Teamsters Local 416 and ASPC/AMHR. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Doris Hopper, Anna Alderman and Sandy Matheny. He is survived by his wife, Getitia (Gillespie) Matheny; children, Muriel (Brian) Poole, Wesley (Dolly) Matheny, Jason (Christina) Melton and Dawson (Shikara) Danberry; 9 grandchildren, Grace, Joshua, Wyatt, Elizabeth, Rebecka, Courtney, Taylor, Jadalynn and Lucas; siblings Kathryn Allen, James (Jean) Matheny, Walter (Karen) Matheny and Tim (Toni) Matheny and brother-in-law, Chuck Alderman. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 7, 2013 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Delmer Dodrill officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
