Cheri Alwood Hatfield-age 65 of Circleville, Ohio passed away after an extended illness on April 15, 2025. Cheri was born on December 6, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio to the late J. Virgil and Mary Jane Wight Alwood. She was preceded in death by brothers William, John, Virgil III, Allen and Howard Alwood and sister Katherine Foster. Cheri is survived by Carl “Bucky” Dickey, son Christopher Hatfield, sisters Mary Zalipski (Jim) of Dayton, Ohio and Edna Ratcliff of Hamilton, Ohio, step daughter Megan Weaver, grandchildren (special granddaughter Emilee), Curtis, and Avery; mother-in-law Susan Beckley and family; and by several nieces and nephews and great niece. With her brother, Allen, Cheri owned Virgil Alwood Florist in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. After moving to the Circleville area, she was a floral designer at Wagner Flowers for many years. She loved flowers and her favorite was sunflowers. She was an avid camper, member and secretary of Friends of Deer Creek and a volunteer for Deer Creek State Park. She loved to cook and do crafts. Her favorite food was anything chocolate. We would like to thank her caregivers at Adena Hospice for the special care shown to Cheri during her illness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
