LAURELVILLE – Loving wife and mother, Cheryl Jane Shaw, age 64, passed from this life on November 23, 2016 after a battle with cancer. She was born May 31, 1952 in Circleville, OH, the daughter of Earl and Mildred (Stump) Swackhamer.
Cheryl leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 43 years Michael J. Shaw; son Chris (Jenny) Shaw of Laurelville; daughter Erin (Marty) Crosby of Laurelville; grandchildren Destiny (Alex) Binkley of Adelphi; Christen Shaw, Nash Crosby and Jacob Shaw of Laurelville; great-grandson Sawyer Binkley of Adelphi; sister Joyce (Jesse) Newman of Circleville; sister Judy (Mike) DeLong of Laurelville; sister Bev (Bill) DeLong of Laurelville; brother Mike (Brenda) Swackhamer of Laurelville; brother-in-law Rollie Hart of Laurelville; brother-in-law Tom (Cheryl) Shaw of Madisonville, LA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close and special friends including Judy Jarvis.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents-in-law Boyd and JoAnn Shaw; brother John Swackhamer and sister-in-law Nancy Hart.
Cheryl attended and graduated from Laurelville High School in 1970. She graduated from Nationwide Beauty Academy as well. Cheryl is best known as the co-proprietor of Backstreet Profiles in Laurelville. Cheryl has been described as a classy and caring friend by many. Cheryl will be sadly missed but not forgotten by her loving family, friends and community.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Graveside service will immediately follow at Green Summit Cemetery. A meal will be provided by Laurelville Church of God for family and friends following the graveside service. Friends may call from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Cheryl’s name to: Laurelville Elementary School, Stefanie Spielman Fund or the American Cancer Society.
