Christina Jean (Lands) Minor, 46, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at her
home in Circleville peacefully, surrounded by family, flowers and love.
Born Nov. 14, 1967, in Mobile, Ala., Christina lived most of her life in Pickaway County. She was a 1986 graduate of Logan Elm High School and a 1990 graduate of The Ohio State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
A lifelong teacher of students of all abilities - most often, those with special needs - Christina worked in the Logan Elm School District, in recent years at Laurelville and Saltcreek Elementary Schools. A longtime volunteer for the Circleville Pumpkin Show, she was a member of numerous community organizations including St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher. Through her beautiful daughters, she was involved with the 4-H, Rainbow Girls and the Logan Elm High School marching band. She also loved gardening, sewing, cooking, crafting, and a good practical joke. All loves she passed along to her family and loved ones.
Christina is survived by her childhood sweetheart, soulmate and husband of 25
years, Jay Edmund Minor, of Circleville; daughters Eliza Jayne Minor of
Nashville, Tenn.; and Arista Ruth Minor and Madeline Lee Minor, both of Circleville. She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Jeanie (Strous) Lands of Stoutsville; a brother, Jamie and Rhonda (Bonnaville) Lands of Stoutsville;
Christina is also survived by Jay's parents, The Rev. Dale and Valarie Minor of Rutland, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Phillip and Amy (Roby) Minor of Circleville; Marty and Emily (Smith) Minor of West Palm Beach; sister-in-law, Wendy (Minor) Viny and Joseph Viny of Rutland, Ohio; She is survived by nephew and nieces, Curtis Lands, Abby Lands, and Emma Lands of Stoutsville, Ian Minor of West Palm Beach, Florida, Leah Minor of Columbus, Ohio, and Stanley and Nina Viny of Rutland, Ohio. Christina is also survived by her beloved fox terrier, Millicent.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 22976 Ringgold Southern Road, Stoutsville, 43154. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, also in Stoutsville. Calling hours are 1-7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Minor
Daughters Education Fund, c/o Fifth Third Bank, 159 E. Main St.,
Circleville, 43113. Memorials could also be made to The Rainbow Fund at Berger Health Foundation, 1280 N. Court St., Circleville. Finally, donations to the Hospice of Pickaway County, 1170 N. Court St., Suite B, Circleville, would be a lovely tribute to Christina. The loving workers there helped her fly away home.
