Clarence “Bennie” Huffer, 87, of Westerville, formerly of Circleville, passed away June 24, 2024. He was born September 1, 1936, in Pickaway County the son of Clarence and Bessie (King) Huffer. Bennie was a 1954 graduate of Pickaway Twp. School, a member of Community United Methodist Church in Circleville and a veteran of the Ohio National Guard. Bennie worked at DuPont for 39 years in the (CRL) Circleville Research Labs for 34 years, retiring in 1998. He was on the Circleville Youth Baseball board for several years as well as a coach for little league baseball teams in Circleville. Bennie enjoyed coaching his two sons in baseball from mosquito through pony leagues and was fortunate to have many winning teams throughout the years. He loved bowling and was also an avid golfer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Pauline Garrett, brothers Paul, Lloyd and Boyd, nephew Carl Garrett, sister-in-law Marge and brothers-in-law Roy Garrett and Jim Emerine and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Elaine and Donald Poling. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet (Maxson) Huffer, sons Randall (Darah) Huffer of Lewis Center and Gregory (Shannon) Huffer of Lewis Center; grandchildren Taylor (Jezmen) Cox, Joe (Courtney) Huffer, Tanner, Hayden, Danier and Kendal Huffer and four great grandchildren Jermaine, Jezmen Jr., Mia and Mariah. He is also survived by sister Carol Ann Emerine, brother Ronnie, sister-in-law Linda, several nieces and nephews and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karen and Lynn Dunkle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating with burial to follow in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:30-11:30. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Ann’s Hospice/Pallative Care Unit, 500 South Cleveland Avenue, Westerville, Ohio 43081.
