Clyde Sowders, 60, of Washington C.H. passed away on Monday, June 04, 2012 in Columbus after a two year battle with kidney cancer. He was born on February 15, 1952 in Washington C.H. to Lyle and Oma (Martindale) Sowders. He graduated in 1970 from Washington Senior High and had worked at Fibertech from 1975 until his illness. He had also previously worked at WCHO radio, where he was known as Jeremy Clyde.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, John J. Sowders and by one grandson, Anthony Michael Sowders.
Clyde is survived by one son, Lance (Rita) Sowders of Killeen, Texas, one daughter, Crystal (Brad) Heizer of Leesburg, one sister, Emma (Richard) Knisley of New Martinsburg, one brother, Lyle (Dorothy) Sowders, by his girlfriend of 20 years, Diane (Self) Kitchen of Washington C.H., and by grandchildren, Quinton, Aaron and Adam Sowders of Killeen, Texas, and by Skylar Mills, Peyton, Braden and Kylie Heizer all of Leesburg and by the mother of his children, Karen(Dave) Hunt of Zephyrhills, Florida.
Funeral services for Mr. Sowders will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
