Daisy Long

Mrs. Daisy Boyer Long, 81, of Circleville, passed away after an extended illness. She died at 11:00 a.m. on December 14, 2012 at Pickaway Manor. She was born May 28, 1931 in Pickaway County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Reid “Carrie” Boyer. She married Marion Cecil Long on September 5, 1950. She is survived by daughter, Sally (Darrell) Dumm of Circleville, son, Chris (Darlene) Long of Chillicothe; sisters, Norma Jean (Howard) Lemaster of Circleville and Genevieve (Harry) Binns of Delaware; brother, Melvin (Darlene) Boyer of NC; grandsons, DJ (Tonja) Dumm, Shawn (Nicole) Long, Robbie Long (Nikki Cruise) Ricky Currier and Ryan Currier and great grandsons, Blake Spiller and Davis Long. Preceding her in death were husband, Marion Long; daughter, Marsha Long; brothers, Alva, Thomas, Jr., Guy and Ralph Long; and sisters, Leona Anderson, Cecile Jacobs and Anna Allen. Daisy was a lifelong resident of Circleville, who owned two restaurants in Circleville, Choo Choo Inn and Long’s Restaurant. Daisy also worked at Circle Plastics where she retired. Daisy loved watching her kids play sports and watching Sally and Marsha in the marching band. Daisy loved to cook and spend time with family. She enjoyed the company of many of her nieces and nephews and loved each and everyone. The love was returned during her last few months. Special thanks to Carolyn Brooks, Brenda Duvall, Patty Manson, Robin Thompson, Carol Coulter, Joyce Jacobs, Robbie Long and Nikki Cruise, who made sure that Daisy was never alone. Also special thanks to the staff at Pickaway Manor, Berger Hospice, Berger Hospice and Amity Home Health Care. Daisy requested cremation so there will be no calling hours but a celebration of her life will be held Wednesday December 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
