Dale Lee Diltz, 75, of Circleville, passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2010 at Berger Hospital. He was born October 17, 1934 in Pickaway County, the son of Virgil and Mary Etta (Reid) Diltz. Dale was retired from E.I. DuPont in 1992 after 34 years and was an active member of the Circleville Elks Lodge #77 for 38 years where he was a volunteer cook for their tenderloin sales and other functions. He was also a member of Circleville Moose Lodge #2440, the Circleville Eagles and Circleville VFW. In his younger years, Dale was active in Little League as a coach as well as an umpire for other baseball games in Columbus and elsewhere. He was an avid fan of Nascar and the Cincinnati Reds baseball team and loved collecting coins and giving them to his grandchildren and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Mary M. Diltz, Ralph (Geri) Diltz, Ruth (George) Grooms, Alice (Woodie) Clifton, Retha (Emmitt) Eccard and Roger Diltz. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Suzanne (Campbell) Diltz, his son, Michael; daughter, Tracy (Steve) Marshall, grandchildren, Misty (Dale) Dean, Leigh Fuller, Brooke and Bryce Diltz, Kelsey, Kristy and Kortney Marshall as well as great grandchildren, Tristan Speakman, Connor Dean, Jesse and Jenna Fuller; sisters, Clara (Robert) Dumm and Marilyn Zwayer; brothers, James (Lottie) Diltz and Karl (Elizabeth) Diltz and sisters-in-law, Geraldine (Hettinger) Diltz and Helen (Greenlee) Diltz. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 10, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to Berger Hospice Care.
