The song has ended, but the melody lingers on. Daniel L. Cook, 72 of Circleville, Ohio put down his trumpet on Wednesday November 27, 2024. He was born June 1, 1952 to Carroll and Margaret (Dearth) Cook, who preceded him in death along with his brother Carroll Cook Jr. Dan was a graduate of Westfall High School and Ohio University, Athens with a degree in English Literature. While in college he tried his hand at Refrigeration work. After graduation he continued that line of work, having a highly logical mind and keen understanding of diagnostic equipment and tools he decided that he would continue, and went on to operate
Cook's Refrigeration Service for more than 50 years. His passions in life did not end there. He was an excellent trumpet player, and took lessons from Dr. Robert Petty. Adding to those extraordinary talents was his love of building and flying R.C. airplanes, rebuilding car engines, baking over 200 pans of pumpkin Brownies for our booth at Pumpkin Show every year along with tons of turkeys he made for catering events in November and December each year.
He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Debra, his equally talented brother John (Judy) Cook. Services will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2024 at Wellman's Funeral Home. Visitation starts at 1:00 pm. Funeral at 2:00 and burial immediately following the services at Forest Cemetery.
