Danny Ray Pine, 77, died peacefully in his sleep in his own home at 12:15 a.m. November 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 18th, 1937 in Derby, Ohio to the late Eldon Ray Pine and Melissa Marie (Puckett) Pine. Surviving are his wife, Myra K. (Owens) Pine, sons; Nick (Nancy) Pine of Circleville, Jack A. Pine of Columbus and daughter, Tammy L. (Rick) VanGundy of Tarlton, 7 grandchildren, Amber, Josh, Ben, Joey, Nicholas, Danny, Jennifer as well as a living sister, Violet Jean Heath and by many nieces and nephews. Danny was raised in Tarlton where he also raised his own family in the same house he grew up in. Danny graduated High School at Saltcreek High in 1955. After High School he served honorably 3 years in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he performed many jumps. After the Army and a few odd jobs, he began working at Dupont in February of 1959 as a full time maintenance worker and later as a maintenance trainer. That same year he met Myra K. Owens and in October of that year they were married. During the time he was working for Dupont, Danny had many side hobbies and interests including but not limited to: painting, architectural drawing, antiques (Pine’s Antique Shop), airbrushing, poetry, farming, boxing, pool (50 years in the Circle D Pool League), inventor, construction (completely built 4 houses), masonry, wood working (Oak Masters Custom Oak Furniture) gardening, wine crafter, mushroom hunter and a great husband, father and grandfather. Danny had many friends in the community and the family invites everyone whose lives he touched to come pay their respects at a viewing on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Wellman Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private burial will be held at Tarlton Cemetery.
