Darrell Arnett, 79, of Rockbridge, died February 7, 2012 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. He was born November 13, 1932 in Carroll, the son of John and Hattie (Hayman) Arnett. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, life member of Union Local #172, lifelong member of South Perry United Methodist Church, past president of Democratic Party, member of Logan Elm Lodge #624 F&AM for 50 years, foster parent for 20 years, founder of Laurelville Food Pantry and worked as a Hospice volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret (Williams) Arnett and brothers, John Richard, Donald and sister, Inez. He is survived by his sons, William “Bill” (Rebecca Geirhart) Gooley, Doug (Robin), Gregory (Cheryl) and Jeffrey (Lisa) Arnett; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and brothers, Danny (Yvonda) Arnett and Ronald Arnett. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 11, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery with military graveside honors.
