David Mills Dumm, 79, of Circleville, died December 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1932 in Columbus, the son of Cleve and Dorothy (Mills) Dumm and was raised by his grandmother, Josie Dumm and Aunt, Hazel Dumm. He was a graduate of Pickaway Twp. High School, served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed from 1953-1955 in Germany and was discharged in 1961, he was a member of Emmett Chapel United Methodist Church, VFW #3331, Amvets #2256, Eagles, Soldiers Monumental Association, Pickaway Senior Center, Partners for Paws and was one of the founding members of Pickaway Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. He worked at Lincoln Molded Plastics for 22 years and finished his career at General Electric. Dave also worked on the family farm. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patsy Dumm (infant), Edith (Carl) Green and Nancy (Ron) Straka; brothers, Eddie (Jean) Dumm, Donald Dunn and James (Sarah) Dunn. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tacie (Briggs) Dumm; sons, Keith A. (Terry) Dumm of Circleville and Kevin D. Dumm of New Holland; grandchildren, Chelle (Brian) Modrzynski and Elizabeth (Travis) Brown; great grandchildren, Maddie and Luke Davidson, Bailey Riffle, Carter Smith and Jacob Brown; sisters, Dorothy (Roger) Ricevuto of Columbus and Judith (Steve) Cunningham of Florida and brother, Wayne Dunn of Arkansas. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 8, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery with military graveside honors. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Partners For Paws.
