David L. Michael, age 80, of Youngtown Arizona, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Boswell Hospital, Sun City, Arizona. He was born November 17, 1933; to Clarence G. Michael and Edythe Mae (Nicholson) Michael. Survivors include his wife Ruth J. (Carl) Michael, his only son, Jason L. Michael (and his wife Jennifer Michael); four grandchildren; Leslie, Laura, Raymond and Samantha, five great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Crystal Ellen Anderson, brothers; Clarence Jr., and Richard, as well as sisters; Julia Mae Burton and Betty Louise Andrews. David was a graduate of Chillicothe Ohio High School and attended Ohio State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean conflict with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked with the Mead Corporation then moved to Phoenix, Arizona working as a metal fabricator for the Salt River Project Utility Company for 27 years. He was an avid football fan, loved hunting and nature, traveling and reading western novels as well as trying new restaurants especially Mexican food. The Wellman Funeral Home of Circleville, Ohio and Menke Funeral Home of Sun City, Arizona is serving the family. Graveside services to be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville, Ohio on Thursday, October 16th 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Van Hoose officiating.
