DeMaris Ann Durgin, 79, of Circleville, Ohio peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2023. She was born on October 6, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky to Harry Victor Miller and Zita Frances Streiss. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Durgin; past husband, John “Jack” Brayshaw; brother, John (Candy) Miller; grandson Jeremy Moorehead, and niece Silentip Tubtim.
DeMaris or “Dee” is survived by her daughters, Dawn Clemons-Cline (OH), Jodie (Shawn) Moffett (FL), Amy (Scott) Rouse (OH); granddaughters Nikkita Cline (OH) and Khrysteena Ryan (NC); great granddaughter Raevan Ryan (NC); brothers, Harry Miller (FL), Matthew (Atla) Miller (OH); nieces, Tuk (Bob) Willet (FL), Amanda Miller (OH); nephews, Thawatchai (Tipawan) Tubtim (FL), Sanchai (Malai) Tubtim (OK), Jeremiah Miller (OH), Joshua Miller (OH); great niece, Mindy (Toby) Kidney (OK); Melissa (Ben) Peterson (OK), Samantha Willet (FL); great nephew, Matt (Sanga) Tubtim (CO), Michael (Franchesca) Tubtim (FL), Christopher (Gracie) LeRoy (FL); and numerous cousins, and other family.
A dedicated and loving mother, who raised her daughters before attending college to earn her Bachelor of Nursing from Hocking Technical College. As a Registered Nurse, she worked at local hospitals and nursing homes, before retiring from the State of Ohio as a Prison Infirmary Nurse. She showed her support of our Veteran community, as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, at AMVETS Post 2256, in Circleville, Ohio.
Dee Durgin will be remembered for her welcoming smile, her love for baking, an accomplished painter and artist. She loved her family/friends with all her heart, always anticipating and putting the needs of others before her own. She was a loving and supportive mother, a protector, a nurturing care giver, a mentor, and loved to travel. A very compassionate and generous soul, she leaves behind a legacy of love that will not be forgotten.
The family will be receiving visitation on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held immediately following, at 11:00 a.m., at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, Ohio. Graveside services will be reserved for immediate family members at a separate date and time.
