Deskey B. Posey, 98 years old, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on December 14th, 2024 at 9:36am. She is the daughter of H. George and Oma Douglas Armintrout born on August 2nd, 1926 in Pike County, Ohio.

She was married to John H. Kellough, Jr. and then Lloyd E. Posey, who have both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her 3 brothers: Vora Lee (Charlotte) Armintrout, Alvin (Barbara) Armintrout, Glenn (Elnora) Armintrout.

Her descendants are Children - Robert A. Kellough and Janet C. Posey (deceased). Grandchildren – Robyn (Wilfrido) Carrillo, R. Christopher Kellough, Mark (Julia) Krieger, Patrick and Brandon Woodard. Great Grandchildren – Kayla D. Krieger, Kayla N. Kellough, Gabriel Krieger, Jazmyn Carrillo, Crystal Kellough, Anthony and Breyana Carrillo. Nieces – Jennifer (Greg) Holder and Joyce (David) Layne. Nephews – Kevin (Paula) Locke, Ed (Diana) Armintrout, Jeff Armintrout, Wayne Armintrout and Ryan (Lisa) Armintrout. And many other family members.

Deskey graduated from Scioto Township High School in 1944, Wilmington College in 1954 and Ohio University in 1966 with a master’s degree in education. She taught Elementary School for 34 years in Stockdale and Scioto Township in Pike County as well as Washington Township and Pickaway Township in Pickaway County.

In her retirement, she enjoyed camping with The Rolling Buckeyes and Samboree Sams throughout Ohio and The United States. She also enjoyed touring with her traveling friend Helen Kinder, the Royalaires Gospel Group and the Red Hatters of Chillicothe. Her travels also consisted of going to The Holy Lands, Germany, England, Scottland and Egypt.

She was a member of Free Gilead Christian Union Church, Circleville Baptist Church (serving as their treasurer for 10 years) and a member of Bourneville Christian Union Church.

Deskey worked for Habitat for Humanity and sat in Jimmy Carter’s Sunday School class at his Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia. She worked with Teen Mission in Florida sewing goat skins to help make a replica of the Old Testament Tabernacle.

Her family invites you to Celebrate her full life at Wellman’s Funeral Home for a viewing at 11:00am and 1:00 Service Thursday December 19th, 2024 followed by burial at Twin Township Cemetery in Bourneville, Ohio.
