Dewey Mays

Dewey G. Mays, 88, of Circleville passed away on January 16, 2017. He was born on August 15, 1928 in Beckley, West Virginia to Curtis and Sadie (Merritt) Mays. Dewey was a WWII and Korea Army Veteran, retired from Dupont and was a member of AmVets Post 2256. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Mildred (Bobbitt) Mays, children; Vickie Stone, Jeanne Valentine, Sonnie Starrett, Kevin Mays and by brother; Jack Mays and sisters; Shirley Pitman, Jean Angel and Betty Phillips. Dewey is survived by his daughter; Wendi Asher, son; Chris (Melanie A.) Mays, numerous grand and great grandchildren and by 2 sisters; Midge North and Sharon Rhodes. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. A special thanks goes to Georgetown Veterans Home.
