Dolores Carley

Dolores Jean Carley, 84 of Circleville, passed away peacefully Thursday June 13, 2013 at The Cardinal House in Cambridge, OH. She was born January 9, 1929 in Circleville, the daughter of the late Frank and Mae (Willis) Hawkes. Dolores was a 1947 graduate of Circleville High School and lifelong member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Mrs. Carley worked for Murphy’s Department Store and the ASCA office in Circleville. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting bears, the festivities of the Pumpkin Show and an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years Woodrow Carley in 1986. She is survived by a son, Dana (Rhonda) Carley of Cambridge; 3 grandchildren, Ross (Jennifer) Carley of Cambridge, Wade Carley of Zanesville and Cassandra Carley of Cincinnati; great grandson, Rhett Carley of Cambridge; sister, Phyllis Hawkes of Circleville; 3 brothers, Elliott (Marilyn) Hawkes of Williamsport, Ronald (Audrey) Hawkes of Circleville and Branson (Melissa) Hawkes of New Albany. Delores also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; close friends and neighbors. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday June 18, 2013 at the Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville, with Rev. Deborah Bolen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
