Donald Kempton Sr.

Donald Kempton Sr., 94, of Laurelville passed away on August 17, 2023.  He was born on May 27, 1929 in Ross County to Albert and Lora (Oldaker) Kempton.  Donald was in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps in the US during the Korean War.  He was a mail carrier from 1960-1992.  He was a Saltcreek High School 1947 graduate, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Past Chief for Laurelville Fire Department and a 32nd degree Mason.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva (Campbell) Kempton.  Donald is survived by his children Donald R. (Rhonda) Kempton Jr., Pamela (David Wright) Kempton, Lisa Kempton; grandchildren Ryan, Lindsay (Rob) Snavely and Andrew and by great grandchildren Clayton and Miriam.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Laurelville on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and again from 10:00 until the time of service on Saturday.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church.    Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
