Donald Leist

Donald E. Leist, 68, of Stoutsville, died June 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 7, 1941 in Circleville, the son of Oakley and Inez (Lane) Leist. He was a 1959 graduate of Circleville High School, worked at E. I. Dupont, part owner/operator of Leist Grain and Fertilizer, salesman for Central Petroleum Products, bus driver for Logan Elm Schools, a farmer and was in Ohio Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a past member of the Circleville Lions Club and member and active supporter of YMCA. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Myron Leist and sister-in-laws, Ellen Leist and Fran Plum. He is survived by his mother; wife of 48 years, Belinda “Binnie” (Plum) Leist; children, Amy (Jay) Elsea of Circleville, Bart (Rachel) Leist of Galena and Tim (Emily) Leist of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren, Braya, Kaiya, Lauren, Evan, Maddie, Lexie, Allie and Abbie; sister, Jeannie (Pete) McDowell and nephews, Bill (Kathy) and Brian Leist. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday June 4, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice or YMCA.
