Donald W. Schleich, 80, of Williamsport, died at 12:02 am March 19, 2011 surrounded by family, friends and hospice. He was born July 13, 1930, the son of William and Bessie (Sampson) Schleich. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth (Williams) Schleich and spent many wonderful times together the past 61 years. He owned and operated a dairy farm in Monroe Twp. and retired from Jefferson Smurfit as a licensed boiler operator. He served on Williamsport Council and as Mayor for many years, was a member of the Williamsport Volunteer Fire Dept., actively served the Pickaway County Democratic Party, was 50 year member past Master of Heber Lodge 501 F & AM, 50 year member and Past Patron of Heber Chapter # 62 OES, former member of Westfall Board of Education and a dedicated supporter of Westfall Athletics. He loved gardening, spending time with his family and especially listening to granddaughter, Cierra play the piano. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters, Debra (Clark McFarland), Janet (Wayne Wright), Cindy (Bill Kiser), Kathy ( Dan Hill) and Laura Schleich Riggs; grandchildren, C K (Lori) McFarland, Toni (Gregg Henry), Chad (Miranda Kiser), Tara (Josh Stevens), Christy (Darry Rigsby), Tiffany (Josh Elster), Jenna Hill, Cierra Schleich and Tia Riggs; great-grandchildren, Montana McFarland, MacKenzie, Kylee, Gabriella and Caleb Henry, Isaac, Isabell and Carter Stevens, Blake Elster, Canaan Kiser, Haden and Riley Rigsby and Jaycie Melvin; special family friend, Teresa Graffis Campbell; sister, Norma Graham; nephew, Dan Graham and niece Kim Good. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 3 – 8 pm with Masonic and Eastern Star services at 8 pm. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions to Westfall High School Band or Berger Hospice.
