Donald “Don” Henry Streitenberger of Williamsport, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 85 on August 11, 2012. He was born on March 16, 1927 in Yellowbud, the son of Henry and Grace (Vincent) Streitenberger. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley A (Baker) Streitenberger; three daughters, Beverly A. (Wertie) Teets of New Holland, Brenda S. (Harvey) Cassidy and Karen L. (Scott) Clifton all of Circleville; grandchildren Sherri Austin, Holly (Jerimy) Huff, Betsy (Russell) Keller, Travis Cassidy, Troy (Leslie) Cassidy, Tyler Cassidy, Nicholas Clifton and Brady (Erica) Clifton; great grandchildren, Monique and Eli Austin, Shayla Holmes, Kelsey and Kalob Keller, Keller Huff, Cameron, Kisor and Sy Cassidy and the newest great grandchild Harber Clifton, who will be arriving this fall. Donald was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Lloyd. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1944 and served in the U.S. Army in Italy in 1945-1946. He married Shirley Baker in 1951. He moved on the Dunlap Farm K at the age of 26. There he and Shirley raised their three daughters. He farmed there for 41 years. After leaving Farm K they built a home on Yankeetown Pike, Williamsport where he continued to farm. Donald received his 50 year award from Mason’s Heber Lodge #501. He was a member of the Five Points United Methodist Church and enjoyed his church and church family. He was also a Muhlenberg Twp. Trustee for 12 years. He served on the Pickaway County Fair Board and was a member of the Gideons. Donald loved farming. He was still actively farming until the age of 83. He loved going fishing at Lake Erie. He found great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. In the past few years he really enjoyed his coffee buddies at Pettit’s. You could find him almost everyday early in the morning and then again at 4 in the afternoon having coffee with his friends and catching up on the daily events. He will be greatly missed by his family and many, many close friends. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday August 15, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Leland Brehm officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery with military graveside service. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Five Points UMC.
