Dorothy Bennett

Dorothy J. Bennett, 90, of Circleville, died Nov. 15, 2009 at Pickaway Manor. She was born January 27, 1919 in Circleville, the daughter of Chester C. and Lulu Marie (Stonerock) Wolf. Dorothy worked at Pickaway Dairy and co-owned and operated the North End Market for 43 years with her husband, Bertus C. Bennett. She was a 1937 graduate of Circleville High School, lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of Circleville Alumni Assoc, Pickaway Senior Citizens and Pickaway Women’s Republican Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bertus; sisters, Ruth Young, Mildred and Mary Kathryn Wolf and Norma J. Moats and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Young, Harold Moats and Richard Snyder. She is survived by a son, William A. (Diane) Bennett and daughter, Sue A. Haley; sister, Virginia Snyder, several nieces and nephews and special care giver, Pauline Smith. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Gerhard W. Kraus and nephew, Rev. Paul David Young officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
