Dorothy (Fetherolf) O'Day, 82, of Ashville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2012. She was born January 24, 1930.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Moore) Fetherolf; sisters Jesse Knece, Grace O'Day, Ruth Stowers, Goldie Cooper, Edna Hart, and Ada Wagner; brothers Robert, Merlow, Fred, Earl, Herbert and Sterling Fetherolf; son-in-law James R. Watson, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Roy O'Day; beloved sister Helen O'Day; sons Robert (Lillian), Charles (Yvonne), and Michael O'Day; daughters Mary (Dave) Watson and Barbara (George) Lewis; 13 grandchildren, Nicki (Rob) Bender, Kelly (Julie) O’Day, Ruth, Martha, Naomi, Jason, and James B. Watson, Toni (Tim) Tootle, Rebecca (Tony) Kovach, Deborah (Gregg) Miller, and Charles Jr., Jessie, and Joshua O'Day; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many special nieces and nephews.
Dorothy retired in 1996 after 24 years at Columbus Industries in Ashville. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, gardening and giving shoulder rubs and bear hugs. She was a great cook and holiday meals were very special times for her. When she wasn't acting silly to make others laugh, Dorothy was always more than happy to help loved ones in times of need. She will be very dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Ashville Church of Christ in Christian Union with Pastor Don Blankenship officiating. Visitation Hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wellman's funeral home in Circleville. Burial will be in Harrison Township Cemetery in Pickaway County.
