Dorothy Wamsley

Dorothy Katherine “Katie” Wamsley, 76, of Circleville died January 7, 2014 at Genesis Health Care. She was born June 19, 1937 in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Rowley) Davis. She received her PHD in English from OSU and was a college professor at Bethany College, WV. She was a member of New Life Church, former scout leader, pianist, and a volunteer with American Diabetes Association. Katie is survived by her children, Carolyn (Dan) Mayhew of Chillicothe, Megan (Chris) Anderson of Williamsport, David (Dawn) Wamsley of Laurelville; grandchildren, Trevor, Dylan, Matthew (Cheryl), Chelsea, Tiffany, one great grandchild, Conner and by one sister, Carolyn Davis of Portsmouth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m.
