D. Trent Wharton

D. Trent Wharton, 89, of South Bloomingville Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.  He was born on February 6, 1934 to the late James and Margaret (Hickman) Wharton of Millsboro, Delaware.  Trent was a 1952 graduate from Laurel High School.  He was also a dedicated Ralston Purina employee who retired after 35 years of service that relocated him across the U.S.  He served in the Delaware National Guard and was a member of the Elks for many years.  He was an avid outdoorsman.  More importantly, Trent was a dedicated family man to his wife, daughters, son-in-law’s, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and served as a mentor and father figure to many throughout the years.  Trent is survived by the love of his life Jennie (Scott) Wharton whom he was married to for 69 years.  They married on September 4, 1953.  Trent is also survived by his daughters; Janice (Michael) Oliver of Wheelock, Vermont, Elaine (Mike) Tingle of Laurel , Delaware, Cindy (Lynn) Alderman of Circleville, Ohio and Trenny Wharton of Kingston, Ohio.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Lyndi (Ryan) Ross, Shawn Tingle, Trent Alderman, Jenna (Greg) Conaway and step-grandchildren Victoria (Jake) Emery and Kathryn Oliver as well as great-grandchildren.  Trent is also survived by his siblings Jimmy (Sallie) Wharton, Judy (Chip) Baker and sister-in-law Saralee Wharton.  He was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Wharton.  Trent was also survived by a special friend Terry Crumley.  Graveside services will be held at Mt.
