Elsie Shepard

Elsie (Conley) Shepard, 78, of Circleville died November 15, 2010 in Pickaway Manor. She was born March 10, 1932 in Kentucky the daughter of Willis and Emily (Shepherd) Conley. She graduated from Caney Junior College in Kentucky and Ohio Christian University, served in the Missions Field in the West Indies, Papua New Guinea and Laredo, TX and retired as a missionary for Churches of Christ in Christian Union. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie Statton, Ruthie and Dorothy Conley and brothers, Lloyd, Lawrence and Arnold Conley. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Norval Shepard; brothers, Curtis Conley of IN, Frank Conley of LA, and Clifford Conley of NM; sisters, Cilla Bolen of FL, Margie Cook and Thelma Hoover of MI and Lee Tillman of CA and longtime friend, Rev. Sue Bingman. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday November 20, 2010 at the First Church of Christ in Christian Union. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to First C.C.C.U. Building Fund, Ohio Christian University or C.C.C.U. Missionary Dept.
