Ernie L. Karshner, 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Brown Memorial Home following a brief battle with cancer. Ernie was born in Ross County to Nelson and Goldie (Waits) Karshner on December 27, 1949. He graduated from Southeastern High School in 1969 where he met the love of his life, Holly Fisher. They were married on July 20, 1969. Ernie worked at Thomson Consumer Electronics for 33 years. After his retirement from TCE, he worked for Pickaway-Ross Career and Technical Center for 13 years. Ernie was active in the community as a coach for little league baseball and youth football. He served as Logan Elm Booster Club president for many years and was a volunteer at Logan Elm football games and track meets. Ernie was a proud supporter of Logan Elm Schools and of Rio Grande and Tiffin Universities track and field. He was a member of Emmett Chapel UMC. His life passion was his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked tirelessly to support his wife, children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren in all that they did. He never missed an event and believed in being present. He genuinely loved his friends and coworkers and treated them as family. He loved hosting family gatherings at his home and local pizza shops. He loved to entertain his boys and grandchildren with his stories, some true, some not. He also loved his dogs and his grand dogs, and they were his best friends in recent years. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law Ralph and Annabelle Fisher; sisters Claudia (Karshner) Ward and Cindy (Karshner) Waltz; infant brother Nelson W. Karshner Jr.; sister-in-law Victory (Fisher) Bethel and brother-in-law Roger Fisher.
