Ethel M. Whitten, 93, of Country Glenn Nursing Center died Monday, November 15, 2010 at Odyssey Health Care Health Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Pike County, Ohio to Leroy and Bertha (Deselm) Rittenhouse on September 11, 1917. She lived in Fayette County for 69 years. She was a member of Church of Christ on State Route 38.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two husbands, John Seymore in 1951 and Forrest Whitten in 1988, two brothers, Legustie and Homer Rittenhouse and by three sisters, Edna M. Pollard, Ellen Evans and Blanche Saunders.
Mrs. Whitten is survived by two sons, Marvin and his wife Katy Seymore of Jeffersonville, Edwin Seymore of Washington C.H., two grandchildren, Jennifer (Greg) Steele, one grandson, Richard (Crystal) Seymour, four greatgrandchildren, Aaron, Davis and Boyd Steele, Benjamin Seymore, one stepson, Forrest Whitten Jr., three step daughters, Kathryn Kunz, Barbara Miller, Betty Swingle and by several step grand and great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Whitten will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home with burial to follow in Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
