Evaleen Lambert Profile Photo

Evaleen Gibson Lambert went through the pearly gates to meet her Lord on January 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is survived by John Wilmer Lambert, her loving husband of 71 years, her two daughters, Janet Hyde (and Don Stalenger), Melinda Raisch (and Mark Raisch) and grandchildren, Landon Raisch and Layne Raisch. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Overflowing with generosity, compassion, and dignity, she was influential in the lives of hundreds of people on a spiritual and personal basis. She graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in 1940 and met her future husband, J.W. Lambert, shortly thereafter. They married in 1940 after a three-month courtship. She supported him when he became a minister as they moved to various cities in Ohio, Iowa, Texas, California and Idaho. She also was a school teacher. When J.W. became a District Superintendent, she moved with him to North Dakota, Upper New York and eventually they returned to Ohio in 1981 where he was the District Superintendent for the Central Ohio District. She traveled unselfishly with him to the various churches to minister to the church members. She also served as the District Missionary President for several years. For the past 22 years, she worked part-time for her son-in-law’s dental practice where she was instrumental in many of the patient’s lives. She devoted most of her free time to spend with her grandchildren. She never missed a play, a ballgame, a recital or any other event. Her influence on them will continue to guide them through their adult lives. Evaleen will be remembered for her genuine and upbeat composure, joy in life, love for God, and the many lives she so deeply touched. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrance donations be made in her name to the Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, OH 43214. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 22, 2012 at the Northwest Church of Nazarene, 5705 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43235. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the church. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery, Circleville. Arrangements were under the direction of Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
