Francis Lowell (Frank) Kinzer passed away Wednesday November 23rd at 2:45 a.m. surrounded by the loving presence of his family.
Francis Lowell Kinzer was born January 10, 1934 to Theodore Vurgiss and Julia Marie Campbell Kinzer at home on Smith Road near Leesburg in Highland County, Ohio.
Frank retired from Steelox (formerly Armco Steel) in 1996 with 34 years of service. He also worked ten years at Yeoman’s TV & Appliance. Frank was a member of Hickory Lane Church of Christ where he faithfully attended until his illness prevented him from doing so. He previously held the positions of Elder and Deacon and actually participated in the physical building of the church at its present site which was completed in 1965.
Frank was an avid sportsman especially enjoying coon hunting, fishing in Canada and mushroom hunting.
Frank married Hilda Lou Free Kinzer on August 15, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 31, 1988. To this union was born one son Gary Lee Kinzer.
Frank is survived by his wife, Martha A. McFadden Kinzer to whom he was married on June 30, 1995; Son Gary L. (Teresa) Kinzer of Washington C. H.; Step son Robert D. (Javonne) Mullins of Dover, New Hampshire. Grandchildren surviving are Gary L. (Sarah) Kinzer II of Washington C. H., Michel L. Grooms (Erik Jones) of Leesburg; Dalton D. and Audrey L. Mullins of Dover, New Hampshire; Great Grandchildren Sydney A., Emylee C. and Piper C. Grooms, Francis A. (Little Frank) and Molly Anne Kinzer.
Frank is survived by siblings Hugh R. (Butch) & Mary Kinzer of South Salem, Mildred A. Williams of Washington C. H. and Linda & Rick Robison of Maitland Florida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Katherine Kinzer and brothers Carroll Red, Orley Eugene, Carl Robert and Wayne Thomas Kinzer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28th at the Wellman-Kinzer funeral home in Washington C. H. with burial to follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery. Hospice of Fayette County Chaplin James Kiger will be officiating assisted by special niece Margaret Williams. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 27th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
